The Early Days

It all began in 1996, when Fastfloor was forged in the white-hot fires of the early internet revolution. As we stood shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Jeff Bezos a fellow early pioneer, maybe we could have kept up with him if it wasn't for our founders primary love of creating Drum & Base music.

Ron Wells and Paul Clarke, having built their music careers as early architects of Jungle Techno, Drum & Base & Trance, saw a business opportunity in the new digital world. Ron led software development, and Paul marketing. Ron found the same creativity in building software solutions, writing code as he did in making music.

Through the smoke and the flames, code was hammered out on our digital anvil breathing life into new software and web design at the turn of the millennium. Ron was soon joined by Mike Costello, an impressionable young apprentice with a great intellect for software engineering. Mike manned the ice pool cooling the red hot code, and quickly solidifying it into a robust production systems.. many still running to this day. Ok maybe we’ve gone a bit far with the last few lines, but you can imagine those exciting formative days. We’ve been in business nearly 30 years, yet we have lost none of the passion in helping our clients build amazing businesses online. 

As the business grew, working on a range of projects from software engineering, web design and digital marketing, so did the customer base. The team secured major clients building transformative solutions for the likes of BMW and the NHS.

Ron and Paul exited Fastfloor in 2018. Ron returned to his first love music and with the resurgence of vinyl, is busier than ever creating new music. Paul moved to Australia.

 

Today

We love solving problems, we love the digital creation process, just like Ron, Paul and the team did back in 1996. Fastfloor built on our experience of delivering complex software projects with a wide range of skilled engineers, made the shift from software development to becoming a focused Shopify agency. We love how much value we can deliver for our customers relatively inexpensively and quickly. Simply put, we deliver simple and effective Shopify projects and support for a fixed price budget.

Not forgetting our roots, Fastfloor continues to innovate with a drive to deliver on the Shopify mission every day of making commerce better for everyone. We are transparent, open, and striving to reduce the barriers to anyone starting an ecommerce business.

We're a small team of Shopify trained specialists predominantly based in the UK, with offices in London and New York.
